The Orchard Room is now open
We are so pleased to share that our Orchard Room is now open and ready to welcome you on your wedding morning.
Designed with those quieter, anticipatory moments in mind, the Orchard Room offers a calm and beautifully considered space to begin your day. It is somewhere you can settle in, take a breath, and enjoy the excitement as everything starts to come together.
A calm and charming space to begin your wedding day
At the heart of the room is a dedicated area for hair and makeup, complete with chairs designed at the ideal height for your hair and makeup artists, along with well-lit mirrors, making it easy for your chosen team to work their magic while you relax with your closest people nearby. There is plenty of comfortable seating too, so everyone can feel at ease without the space ever feeling crowded.
The Neptune kitchen brings both style and practicality, with a drink’s fridge and tea and coffee-making facilities on hand throughout the morning. Whether it is a quiet cup of tea or a celebratory glass of something chilled, everything you need is right there.
We have also thought carefully about those small but important details. There are hooks ready for long dresses to hang beautifully and safely, a DAB radio with Bluetooth, so you can connect your own playlist, and baskets are provided so you can easily gather your belongings before heading over to Jasmine Cottage for the final moments of getting dressed and your portrait photographs.
To make your morning even more special, you can arrange breakfast pastries and fruit smoothies through Nibbles2Nosh for the start of your day and add a touch of celebration with champagne from The Stable Bar. It is all about creating a relaxed and enjoyable start to your day, with everything taken care of.
The Orchard Room is a lovely addition to the flow of a wedding morning at Upwaltham Barns, offering a space that feels both practical and indulgent in equal measure. We cannot wait for you to experience it.
Orchard Room FAQs
Tucked just behind the East Barn, the Orchard Room is a peaceful and thoughtfully curated space made for those quiet, meaningful moments on the morning of your wedding. With dedicated hair and makeup stations, a full-length mirror, and cosy seating, it’s the perfect haven to begin your day surrounded by those closest to you.
The Orchard Room is yours from 8:30 am, welcoming both you and your suppliers as the day begins. From 12 noon, you’ll be able to move into Jasmine Cottage, where you can slip into your dress or suit and take a few treasured photographs before the ceremony. We’ll provide baskets for your belongings so you can easily transition from one space to the other. The Orchard Room will be cleared after your ceremony.
This intimate space is designed for the immediate wedding party, comfortably accommodating up to 6 of your loved ones alongside your makeup and hair suppliers.
A soft seating area invites relaxation, while a kitchenette with a fridge ensures everything you need is at hand. We’ll have a tea and coffee station ready for you, and if you wish, The Stable Bar and Nibbles2Nosh can provide a little extra in the form of celebratory champagne and delicious breakfast or lunch platters to share.
Set near to the little apple orchard, this space holds a rustic charm all its own. In years past, it was where we stored fresh-picked apples before turning them into homemade goods. Today, it offers the same sense of warmth and tradition with an added touch of romance.
The Orchard Room will be unveiled in the spring of 2026. In the meantime, we’ll share little glimpses and updates as the space comes to life and each detail is lovingly added. Keep an eye out as we reveal its transformation….
