Introducing the Orchard Room
A calm and charming space to begin your wedding day
We’re delighted to introduce the Orchard Room, a brand-new space at Upwaltham Barns, thoughtfully designed for your wedding day preparation. Opening in Spring 2026, this peaceful and beautifully finished room will offer a serene space for you and your wedding party to get ready and enjoy the lead-up to your ceremony in comfort and style.
The Orchard Room is ideally located just behind the East Barn and will become a peaceful retreat for you and your wedding party to begin your special day. From those first sips of coffee to having your hair and makeup done, it’s a space thoughtfully created to help you feel relaxed, pampered and entirely in the moment as the excitement builds.

As with everything at Upwaltham Barns, it will be full of our signature rustic charm, think shabby chic vintage style, soft textures, and countryside character; however, it will also be carefully equipped with all the modern touches you might need. Think specialist lighting, dedicated hair and makeup stations, cosy seating, a fridge for bubbles, and a little kitchen corner for tea and coffee.Every detail has been considered to make getting ready feel as easy and enjoyable as possible.

From 8:30 am, the Orchard Room will be yours to enjoy with up to six cherished friends and family. Then, from 12noon, should you wish, you’ll be able to move into Jasmine Cottage to slip into your dress or suit and capture those first, beautiful photographs before your ceremony. We’ll even provide little baskets to help you move everything across with ease.
Why the “Orchard Room”?
In days gone by, this part of the farm was where we stored apples from the little orchard next to the Farmhouse, fresh-picked and destined for homemade goods. Today, that same warmth, charm and tradition will be carried forward into a space made just for you.

Orchard Room FAQs
Tucked just behind the East Barn, the Orchard Room is a peaceful and thoughtfully curated space made for those quiet, meaningful moments on the morning of your wedding. With dedicated hair and makeup stations, a full-length mirror, and cosy seating, it’s the perfect haven to begin your day surrounded by those closest to you.
The Orchard Room is yours from 8:30 am, welcoming both you and your suppliers as the day begins. From 12 noon, you’ll be able to move into Jasmine Cottage, where you can slip into your dress or suit and take a few treasured photographs before the ceremony. We’ll provide baskets for your belongings so you can easily transition from one space to the other. The Orchard Room will be cleared after your ceremony.
This intimate space is designed for the immediate wedding party, comfortably accommodating up to 6 of your loved ones alongside your makeup and hair suppliers.
A soft seating area invites relaxation, while a kitchenette with a fridge ensures everything you need is at hand. We’ll have a tea and coffee station ready for you, and if you wish, The Stable Bar and Nibbles2Nosh can provide a little extra in the form of celebratory champagne and delicious breakfast or lunch platters to share.
Set near to the little apple orchard, this space holds a rustic charm all its own. In years past, it was where we stored fresh-picked apples before turning them into homemade goods. Today, it offers the same sense of warmth and tradition with an added touch of romance.
The Orchard Room will be unveiled in the spring of 2026. In the meantime, we’ll share little glimpses and updates as the space comes to life and each detail is lovingly added. Keep an eye out as we reveal its transformation….
