Wedding flowers have always been an integral part of wedding décor at Upwaltham Barns. They look and smell beautiful, provide lots of options for colour and style and can add a real wow factor to the day.
When you start to make plans for your wedding flowers make sure to keep your budget in mind as this can determine what’s possible. From our experience, a statement piece that everyone will see rather than lots of little arrangements throughout the barns works really well. All eyes will be on you, including your photographers, so why not invest in a statement floral piece to form a backdrop and enhance your photographs?
Decorating the East Barn doors with a floral garland always looks beautiful and provides a stunning backdrop to both your confetti and couples portraits. It also introduces your wedding styling to the courtyard while guests enjoy your drinks reception.
As an alternative to a floral garland, large milk churns filled with flowers either side of the barn doors adds a colourful frame to the barn entrance perfect for a rustic country feel.
For an elegant touch to your wedding ceremony in the East Barn, add flowers to the chair ends that line the aisle and decorate the registrar’s table with a beautiful floral arrangement. This will look gorgeous while you both sign the register.
If you’re thinking big and bold, a beautiful floral arch can look romantic and provides the perfect way to frame your vows. A huge hoop or moon gate of flowers behind your ceremony space creates a stunning focal point. Go as big you dare mixing foliage with flowers.
A floral meadow lining the wedding aisle is also really effective and brings the garden into the East Barn. Go wild, and it will look and smell incredible! If you make them on individual foam blocks, these can then be moved to your reception to decorate the front of your top table.
Don’t forget your wedding reception and table decor; guests will be spending a lot of time sat here, so give them some beautiful flowers to admire. Just make sure they don’t get in the way of conversation, keep them low or above head height.
Decorating the chandeliers in the South Barn adds a real wow factor to your wedding reception and everyone will see them. You can be extraordinarily creative here; individual stems or small bottles filled with flowers hung from ribbons give a unique styling.
Alternatively, combining flowers with draping foliage around the chandelier looks fabulous, as does climbing ivy weaving its way around the beams.
