Top of Tarnya and Demetri’s wedding priorities was ensuring that their guests had a great time. They wanted a wedding party venue which their guests could relax in and entertainment for family and friends to enjoy throughout the night.
Finding ‘the one’
Tarnya and Demetri had already decided they wanted to get married in a barn wedding venue – so they just needed to find the right one. After discovering Upwaltham Barns online, the pair knew it needed to make their shortlist.
“After visiting, we knew it was the perfect venue for our wedding. The Barns offered such a relaxing setting and atmosphere, which was exactly what we were after.” – Tarnya
Styling Upwaltham Barns
With its oak beams and rustic charm, it was easy to style Upwaltham Barns in the Greek wedding they dreamed of. The couple decided on a rustic wedding theme infused with a touch of Greek culture. They combined materials like hessian and wood with vintage flowers and named tables after Greek gods and goddess.
“Everything perfectly complemented the barn’s rustic style while peach tones were used to complement our wedding attire.” – Tarnya
Dressing for the occasion
Tarnya and Demetri’s wedding outfits were perfect for their late summer affair. Demetri opted for a light grey suit with peachy rose gold accessories and Tarnya dressed in a stunning fishtail dress with thin detailed straps and a gorgeous low back. Tarnya’s four bridesmaids wore rose gold too – dressing in sequinned gowns that wowed.
“They looked amazing – their dresses showed off their figures beautifully.” – Tarnya
The wedding day
Tarnya and her bridesmaids arrived at the Barns bright and early, taking advantage of the beautifully unique Jasmine Cottage to get ready in. The pair went on to tie the knot at the Barns before enjoying a delicious foodie reception.
“There were a lot of giggles at the ceremony as the registrar couldn’t pronounce our names properly. It had everyone laughing and made our wedding what it was.” – Tarnya
The fine food enjoyed by the couple and their wedding guests included canapés, such as mini Yorkshire puddings with beef and haddock and leek tartlets, and a three-course wedding breakfast. The pair also gave guests a chance to get experimental with a fun pimp your Prosecco stand.
“The food was delicious – just as we’d experienced at the food tasting evening at Upwaltham Barns.” – Tarnya
Come evening, the Barns were transformed into the perfect party venue. Guests were entertained with a fun photo booth caravan and live music.
“The band were fantastic and had everyone up dancing, creating an atmosphere I knew would be impossible not to achieve at Upwaltham.” – Tarnya
Tarnya’s wedding tips and advice:
1. Plan your wedding photos before the big day. Think about any group photos or couple shots you might like and mention them to your photographer beforehand.
2. Make entertainment a priority. Our photo booth and live band went down really well.
